Bio:
Sarah Schmelzel’s career has been defined by perseverance. In 2024, she achieved a lifelong dream by earning a spot on the U.S. Solheim Cup team, proudly representing her country and helping Team USA defeat Europe. But behind the success, Sarah was experiencing painful, unexplained symptoms that had followed her for years.
After 15 years of searching for answers, Sarah was diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis in December 2025. The diagnosis provided clarity, but also marked the beginning of a long recovery that required her to step away from the LPGA Tour for the 2026 season at the height of her career.
In the midst of her recovery, Sarah chose to turn her experience into purpose — sharing her journey, raising awareness around endometriosis and helping others advocate for their own health. Through her openness, authenticity and humility, Sarah is using her platform to make a difference while working toward her return to competition.
