Maja Stark and Linn Grant are set for their second Solheim Cup appearances after making their debut in Spain in 2023.The Swedish duo have embarked on similar careers having both turned professional in 2021 and each have six wins on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Last year in Spain, the pair teamed up together in the foursomes losing their first match 2&1 but winning their second match 1 up. With this being their second outing in Team Europe colours, Stark and Grant now know what to expect when standing on the first tee and feel more comfortable in that situation.

GAINESVILLE, Va. — Most didn’t know what to expect from Solheim Cup rookies Lauren Coughlin and Sarah Schmelzel this week at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. But two of the oldest members of the 2024 U.S. Team put those questioners to bed on Friday in both the foursomes and four-ball sessions.

Currently living in Charlottesville, Va., 31-year-old Coughlin has been a fan favorite over the first few days of the biennial team competition, and that adoration for the rookie continued well into the first day of play in Gainesville, Va. The fans roared for the two-time LPGA Tour winner both when she teed off in her morning foursomes match and played in the afternoon four-ball matches, cheers that were just as loud as those received by some of her more popular American counterparts.

Sarah Schmelzel had one goal at the beginning of the 2024 LPGA Tour season: make the U.S. Solheim Cup team.

After coming close in 2023, ultimately finishing 16th in the U.S. Solheim Cup Team point standings at the end of the season, and after missing out on the 2023 CME Group Tour Championship by just a single spot, coming 61st in the Race to the CME Globe at the end of regular-season play, Schmelzel knew it was time to buckle down and start really focusing on the things she wanted to accomplish as a professional golfer as she looked ahead to another year competing on the LPGA Tour.

Brooke Matthews Secures LPGA Tour Membership for 2025 Through Epson Tour’s Race for the Card →

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —

Following the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout, the Epson Tour announced today that Brooke Matthews has mathematically clinched her 2025 LPGA Tour card through this season’s Race for the Card. Matthews joins Yahui Zhang, Lauren Stephenson, Fatima Fernandez Cano and Jessica Porvasnik as clinched players, and is the last to be announced before the full top 15 is revealed upon the conclusion of the Epson Tour Championship at Indian Wells in October.

Matthews secured her spot in the top 15 with a tie for fifth finish at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout. The result marked her seventh top-10 finish of the year and her fifth top-five result. The 26-year-old sits at No. 5 in the Race for the Card rankings with one tournament remaining.
