With one LPGA win under her belt and a consistent presence on the leaderboards with her multiple top-5 and top-10 finishes, Lizette Salas has more than proved her grit and skill on the golf course. However, her rise to the highest tier of women’s golf is not your typical story. She grew up in a working-class suburb of LA, amidst the survival struggles of tight-knit immigrant families. Lizette’s parents sacrificed for her to be able to pursue her passion and were rewarded when she earned a golf scholarship from University of Southern California, one of the best women’s golf programs in the country.
During college, Lizette recorded three collegiate event wins and was named the 2008 PAC-10 Freshman of the Year, two-time winner of the PAC-10 Player of the Year award (2009, 2011), three-time PAC-10 All-Conference First Team selection (2009-2011), and two-time NGCA All-American First Team selection (2009, 2011). She then went on to make USC golf history when she graduated as the 1st four-time All-American.
