Originally drafted by the California Angels in the 33rd round in 1995, Robb went unsigned and was drafted again by the Angels in the 10th round in 1999.  Robb made his major league debut on July 28, 2003 against the Oakland Athletics.  He appeared in 38 games for the Angels in 2003 and hit .287.

In 2004, Robb appeared in 56 games, hit .344 and committed just one error in 334 innings  During the 2006 campaign, Robb compiled career highs in games (86), hits (75), home runs (9), RBI (32) and total bases (115).  He put together a 17-game hit streak from August to September and stayed hot by hitting .400 in the 2005 ALDS and ALCS playoffs.

 
At Minnesota, Robb was a two-time All-American and 1999 Big Ten Player of the Year.
