Adam attended the University of Pittsburgh where he was an All-Big East selection as a sophomore and was a Ray Guy Award candidate.  He kicked an average of 42.8 yards during his collegiate career and was also featured as a kickoff specialist.   In 2005, Adam ranked 2nd in the Big East and 29th nationally with a 42.2-yard punting average...had 18 punts downed inside the 20 (30%)...had a season-long 67-yarder at Ohio.   Adam was signed by the Green Bay Packers following the 2009 NFL Draft.
