Edwin was selected in the 26th round of the 1998 amateur draft by the
Chicago White Sox. He spent five years in the White Sox organization
before being traded to the New York Mets in July of 2003. Edwin made
his MLB debut on July 7, 2003 against the Atlanta Braves allowing one
run in two innings of relief.
In November 2003, Edwin was selected off waivers by the Boston Red
Sox. In March of 2005, Edwin filed for free agency and later signed
with the Detroit Tigers. In eight minor league seasons, Edwin has a
1.29 WHIP and 3.57 ERA. He also pitched for the World Team in the 2002
