By all accounts, Reid was not supposed to have the year he had in 2007.  Prior to his second season as a professional baseball player, Reid spent 5 seasons on the baseball team at The University of Minnesota and went undrafted in the 2006 MLB draft.   2007 saw Reid rise from low A ball to AA and his ERA drop from 4.45 in 2006 to 1.62 for all of 2007.   A 97 mph fastball blew by hitters, as they only batted .206 during the 2007 season versus Reid.  In 2008 Reid was promoted to AAA and pitched 24 innings, while recording 6 saves.
